To reflect on after cleaning my data, I clean the data of nutrition facts on one of McDonald’s most popular burgers called the big Mac. This data was quantitative and I collected it from articles online and the McDonald’s website. It has been pretty easy to clean the data because there wasn’t much to remove, but it was very tedious to put each number in one by one. I found it a bit hard to find certain data on things before 2005 just because a lot of the data had not been uploaded around that time. A lot of my sources I used for the data before that time came from old pictures that were resourced on Reddit. Cleaning the data in general feels kind of tedious when trying to find what you need and then picking and choosing what should go and what you’re not. But overall, it feels good to make a collection of this to get across a point. I can’t say one of my mistakes I’ve noticed is that my information is not completely credible just because I rely on old McDonald’s nutrition newspapers to fill in the nutrition facts of the burger from that time. The trend I predicted did not match the one that ended up being true. The Big Mac used to be very unhealthy when the super sized area came in the 1980s but then it reduced back down to a bit healthier, and then became even more unhealthy to its unhealthiest point today. Along with information about the big Mac, I added information about the big arch as well which is known to be the burger that is double with the big Mac already is. These observations that I may definitely use can be incorporated into the work. I wanna create with my data and it will definitely help out with the visualization of it altogether.
