Because I missed class on Monday, 3/23 I wasn’t able to completely follow along with the instructions of completing our Wikipedia articles, but I did my best to finish making my edits which consisted of one date change, two number amount, edits, and one entire paragraph about the expansion of the NCNW. I would say that my article is about 80% complete. I would like to wait for a bit of reassurance before I continue writing just to make sure I’m doing everything correctly even after missing class. I feel like I’ve done a good job summoning up a lot of the information I looked into and I would say there’s still room for me to add more. I just wanna make sure that I am not being repetitive from some of the information placed in different parts of the article which I haven’t seen before. After doing this, this has taught me a lot more about the history of one of the organizations I am currently in and it made me realize that when you don’t keep up with the details and purpose of your mission, it goes unknown to anyone else even if it applies to them. So doing this definitely opens my eyes to how digital humanities is such a blessing to others when intrigued by more knowledge. This entire project has made me a lot more intrigued about my knowledge as well. I’ve learned that Wikipedia is a source that is edited by many people and also regulated by lots of people as well with time stamps and very organized, detailed structure to make sure that things go smoothly which I wasn’t aware about. I think that Wikipedia is a pretty reliable source if you look at it the correct way doing this project has made me realize I’ve been looking at Wikipedia with my glasses off for all my life and doing this really cleared things up for me!
